You can practice day and night to sharpen your skills and still never reach your full potential. In AK, I like to focus on using your mind and understanding your environment. Sharpening these weapons and synchronizing them, allow you to gain an advantage over most opponents. So always keep your mind sharp and open to new avenues of information and be aware of your surroundings..
Here are a couple of videos to give you an example of this. The first, is a scene from Rumble in the Bronx starring Jackie Chan, who exemplifies using your environment to the fullest. The second is a scene from The Protector starring Tony Jaa. In this scene, his Muay Thai style, which is a powerful and bruising style in itself, is no match for his opponent's great size and tactics. He must figure out a way to gain an advantage.

Recognization of Movement and Anticipation
In an encounter, you must recognize a variety of things. You must know your limitations and weaknesses, and how your opponent plans to exploit them. Picking up ques from an opponent's stance is a major key to anticipating their plan. The movement of certain areas are keys to reading your opponents movements.
Here are videos of Michael Jai White, a martial arts practitioner with 7 black belts, explaining the concept of how not to be read, and the great Bruce Lee explaining why you do not focus on one area....

The Breathing Techniques of AK
Your best weapon is your mind. Exercising this tool is vital to avoiding conflict. The first rule of AK is, fighting is the last resort. Do not let emotion cause you to strike first, this is unacceptable. The mind and body are one and when one is strong so is the other.
Breathing techniques are the first step. Controlling your breath is a way to control your soul. Many martial arts focus on breathing, AK breathing techniques are adapted from Aikido,
Here is an example of three breathing techniques: Key, Combative, and Meditative

The Art of American Kamikaze
For years I have studied martial arts, I have obtained two 1st degree black belts in Kenpo Karate and Taekwondo and a brown belt in Judo. However, thanks to the advent of the internet I have been expanding my knowledge of other forms and combative styles. I have put together my own system of martial arts which I call American Kamikaze, AK for short. This title stands for the Divine Wind of America. Through this blog site I will bring my philosophies, some I have been told and others that are my own. This system is intended to provide understanding of martial art forms and practical use in the real world. Videos are intended for instructional example only and the rights to those videos belong to the owner of said video. So let's begin......
